Description

Product Description

Our anhydrous sodium selenate powder is a high-purity inorganic selenium source. It appears as a white crystalline powder or fine granules, is odorless with a slightly salty taste, and is stable in dry air. This product is refined from selenite or selenium dioxide through oxidation, neutralization, crystallization, and dehydration. The main content, calculated as selenium (Se), is typically not less than 41%, and it exists in an anhydrous form, exhibiting a lower hygroscopic tendency compared to selenates containing water of crystallization.

Due to the narrow effective and toxic dosage ranges of selenium, the amount added to the formulation is extremely low (usually at the microgram level). We recommend stepwise premixing or carrier adsorption for stepwise dilution to ensure uniform distribution of selenium in the final product.

Benefits of Sodium Selenate anhydrous powder

Supports the activity of various selenium-dependent enzymes in the body: Selenium is an essential component of various selenoproteins, including glutathione peroxidase, thioredoxin reductase, and iodothyronine deiodinase.

Participates in the body's antioxidant defense system: As a core component of glutathione peroxidase, selenium helps protect cells from oxidative damage.

Supports normal thyroid function: Selenium participates in the activation process of thyroid hormones (T4 to T3), helping to maintain normal thyroid function.

Supports normal immune system function: Selenium plays a role in the normal activation and proliferation of immune cells.

Participates in the synthesis of selenoproteins in the body: Selenium is incorporated into selenoproteins in the form of selenocysteine, a component of the 21st amino acid.

Product Quality Advantages

Highest Selenium Concentration: 41.0%–43.0% selenium content, allowing extremely low inclusion rates and reduced impact on finished product mass.

Anhydrous Form: No water of hydration (loss on drying ≤1.0%), ensuring consistent selenium content and superior flow properties.

Excellent Solubility: Freely soluble in water without heating, producing clear solutions suitable for all liquid applications.

Low Selenite Impurity: Controlled to ≤1.0%, ensuring the product is predominantly the fully oxidized, stable selenate form.

Low Anion Impurities: Chloride and sulfate each ≤0.1%, minimizing unwanted counterions.

Clean Manufacturing: Produced under strict safety protocols; no organic solvents used.

Why choose Our Anhydrous Sodium Selenate Powder

Optimal Form: Anhydrous vs. Aqueous Form – More Precise Content, Superior Stability, and Smaller Formulation Space

Higher Safety: Hexavalent Sodium Selenate vs. Tetravalent Sodium Selenite – Lower Toxicity, Better Compatibility, and Less Gastrointestinal Irritation

Premix-Friendly: Ultra-high water solubility supports uniform wet dispersion; optional micronization/anti-caking treatment meets dry mixing needs.

Pharmaceutical-Grade Quality Control: ICP-MS full testing for heavy metals and impurities; batch-by-batch traceability.

Comprehensive Coverage: From dietary supplements to medical foods, from animal feed to agricultural selenium fertilizers, providing a one-stop selenium source solution.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between sodium selenate and sodium selenite?

A: Sodium selenate (Na₂SeO₄) contains selenium in the hexavalent (Se⁶⁺) state, while sodium selenite (Na₂SeO₃) contains selenium in the tetravalent (Se⁴⁺) state. Selenate is more fully oxidized, has different solubility and stability characteristics, and is used in different applications. Selenate is also less toxic on an acute basis than selenite at equivalent selenium doses.

Q: Why is the anhydrous form preferred over the decahydrate form?

A: The anhydrous form contains no water of hydration, providing higher selenium concentration per gram (42% vs. approximately 21% for the decahydrate). This allows for lower inclusion rates, better flow properties, and more stable selenium content without weight variability from hydration changes.

Q: What is the selenite impurity and why does it matter?

A: Selenite (Se⁴⁺) is a different oxidation state of selenium. Our product controls selenite impurity to ≤1.0%, ensuring the product is predominantly the intended selenate form. High selenite content may indicate incomplete oxidation or degradation.

Q: What is the difference between this product and selenium-enriched yeast?

A: Sodium selenate is an inorganic, fully defined chemical compound with consistent selenium content (42%). Selenium-enriched yeast is a complex food matrix where selenium is incorporated into yeast cells in various organic forms. Both are used as selenium sources but have different regulatory classifications and application profiles.

Q: How's shipping handled?

A: We ship globally by express, air, or sea-pick the speed that matches your plan (and your patience).
