Description

Product Description

Monobenzene, whose full name is 4-bisoxi phenol, is a highly effective bleach. Simply put, this substance can permanently remove skin pigmentation; it is not a common additive used for skin whitening, but rather exclusively employed in certain medical applications.
It primarily targets melanocytes, the cells responsible for producing melanin. After being absorbed by the skin, monobenzene interferes and ultimately destroys these pigment-producing cells. The bleaching effect is not temporary but rather a permanent removal of pigment in the affected area. In cases of extensive vitiligo, it may bleach healthy skin surrounding the affected areas, making them match the original color of the white patches, thereby achieving a uniform skin tone.
Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the key enzyme responsible for melanin synthesis-tyrosinase-while producing active quinoid substances that damage melanocytes. Once the melanocytes are deactivated, melanin production is completely halted, resulting in a uniform depigmentation effect. This process is relatively slow, typically requiring several months, so patience is necessary during use.
Monobenzene appears as a crystalline white powder or a similar white substance, nearly odorless. It is readily soluble in alcohols and oils but has low solubility in water; therefore, it should be dissolved beforehand with an appropriate solvent before being added to the formulations. The substance is sensitive to light and tends to degrade when exposed to it, so it should be stored in a light-protected place. It is recommended to use brown-colored, hermetically sealed containers.
In medicinal creams, the usual concentration is approximately 20% by weight; under strict medical supervision, it may reach up to 30%. Due to its strong efficacy, reduced amounts should not be added arbitrarily.

Monobenzene Characteristics

Appearance – White crystalline powder, no discernible odor or taste, free-flowing in texture.

Solubility – Lipophilic; dissolves in ethanol, oils, glycols; practically insoluble in water, pre-dissolve in oil phase with mild heat.

Safety – typical use 20% w/w; initial redness or itching common, check local laws.

Handling caution – Powder irritates skin, eyes, airways – wear gloves, goggles, dust mask; light-sensitive, store in amber containers.

Downside – Depigmentation is permanent, re-pigmentation near impossible.

Function – Permanent depigmenting agent; destroys melanocytes to remove skin color.

Product Benefits
01.

Permanent, definitive depigmentation

Destroys melanocytes at the basal layer; blocks tyrosinase irreversibly; stops melanin production for good; leaves treated skin evenly white with no re-pigmentation

02.

Uniform tone for extensive vitiligo

Matches scattered dark patches to existing white areas; erases harsh contrast; blends large body surfaces seamlessly; creates a consistent overall appearance

03.

Controlled, predictable process

Effects build gradually over several months; progress can be monitored and adjusted under medical guidance; outcome is targeted – only applied areas lose pigment

04.

Clinically validated standard

Recognized as the reference depigmenting therapy for vitiligo; backed by decades of dermatological data; manufactured to strict pharmaceutical purity, batch after batch

Disodium EDTA certificates

Applications

1. Prescription depigmenting creams – Targets remaining melanocytes in widespread vitiligo; permanently removes pigment from normal patches; unifies skin tone to a single even white

2.Hospital compounding formulas – Prepared as 20% w/w topical ointments; applied under strict dermatological supervision; erases isolated dark spots, matching them to surrounding white areas

3.Clinical reference materials – Used as a working standard for assay calibration; serves as a tyrosinase inhibitor in pharmacological studies; supports melanocyte biology research

4.Regulatory dossier samples – Supplied with full analytical data packages; meets identity, purity, and impurity criteria for drug master file (DMF) submissions

FAQ

Q: 1. What is Monobenzone, really?

A: A powerful, permanent depigmenting agent - it hunts down and wipes out pigment-producing cells called melanocytes; once treated, the skin loses its color for good, not a temporary fade, making it a dedicated medical tool, not a cosmetic ingredient.

Q:  Is it just a strong skin whitener?

A:  No, it's a prescription-only drug; its job is to unify skin tone in widespread vitiligo by stripping pigment from remaining dark patches; using it as a beauty bleach causes irreversible, patchy color loss and is strictly banned in cosmetic products.

Q: What's the typical use level?

A:Therapeutic creams run at 20% w/w, sometimes 30% under supervision; there's no tiny cosmetic dose - it's an all-or-nothing pharmaceutical; for compounding, we supply high-purity active powder, never used below medicinal strength.

Q: How do I add it to my formulation?

A:It's lipophilic - freely soluble in ethanol, glycols, and oils, practically insoluble in water; pre-dissolve it in your oil phase with mild warming; always shield from light, store in amber containers; avoid water-only systems without a co-solvent.

Q: Any safety or regulatory red flags?

A:Expect mild redness, itching, or irritation early on - common, but needs monitoring; pure powder can irritate skin and airways, so wear gloves, goggles, and a mask; check local laws - the EU bans it in cosmetics, most countries regulate it as a drug; depigmentation is permanent, no reversal.
